Quiet on the Blogfront

Just a quick note about this blog.

Since joining Beggars All my posting here has trailed off dramatically. I don't forsee that changing and will continue to focus my efforts there. I have cut back dramatically on my blogging time and don't have the time to spend here.

Instead I will continue to use this blog for keeping track of quotes and resources I find interesting. I will however try to keep up with any comments made here.

I am still waiting for a post on how reformed theology has given you joy and peace and made you a kinder gentler person. Please try to evangelize us lost souls by showing us how winsome and true reformed theology is.
How has it changed your life and attitudes for the better?

I already told you that I am not fully Reformed - I am still on the fence. Why would you keep up with this line of questioning after I already explained this...

But, if I were fully Reformed I am sure my answer would be the same - Christ gave me joy and peace, not Reformed doctrine. Doctrine helps me have a deeper understanding of God's ways and in many ways it does bring peace and joy - but being united with Christ is what has made me a "new creation".

Ok Carrie, As a Catholic I also say:
" Christ gave me joy and peace , not Catholic doctrine. Doctrine helps me have a deeper understanding of God's ways and in may ways it does bring peace and joy-but being united with Christ is what has made me a "new creation"

How bout that?, Jesus does the same thing for me(through Catholic doctrine) as he does for you through (reformed) doctrine. So how can you therefore judge my walk with God and make innuendo that Catholics "aren't really in the faith?"
If you are not fully reformed what are you? You don't even know what you believe?

How come you are allowed to vacillate regarding what you believe but sincere Catholics who love Jesus and have experienced his joy and peace are treated with disrespect and disdain on your blog? Because you disagree with them?
You aren't even sure what you believe! But it is ok for you to condemn Catholics with your sniping
misrepresentations of Catholicism.

Why don't you tell us what it is you believe?

Carrie, if Jesus gives you joy and peace, then pursue Him with all hope and love and desist from your hateful rants against Catholicism which you have no understanding of.
Read the Catholic catechism and learn what it is Catholics believe. Don't base your understanding of Catholicism on what you glean from Catholic hate sites. Trust me, the peace you will experience from no longer fence sitting(as you yourself admitted here) and vacillating and trying to pull together scriptures to make up a doctrine you are comnfortable with will be worth pursuing. Stop being your own pope, the freedom you experience will be life changing!
Why don't you take a rest from blogging for awhile until you are sure what it is you really believe.
If your compatriots over at Swan's Land of Love were aware of your doctrinal duplicity, you would soon become a target for their doctrinally correct cannons.
Run Carrie Run!!!! Jesus will lead you into all Truth! Don't be surprised when you find He's been there all the time for you (In the Eucharist) at the Catholic Church down the street.

I'd suggest staying there for a while then and reading through the whole Bible several times before making a final decision. You don't want to be a fatalist blaspheming God and making him the author of sin.

I am not judging your particular walk I am judging your profession of faith. The Catholic profession of faith is not biblical.

How come you are allowed to vacillate regarding what you believe

I don't vacillate on what I believe, the object of my saving faith is the same whether Reformed or not. Reformed vs not Reformed is about the mechanics behind the scenes. Doesn't change the final outcome that a true believer in the gospel of Christ has faith alone in Christ alone (by grace alone) for salvation, bearing the fruit of such a conversion.

Read the Catholic catechism and learn what it is Catholics believe. Don't base your understanding of Catholicism on what you glean from Catholic hate sites.

I do read Catholic materials and I would say I don't read Catholic hate sites but since you are so fond of throwing the word "hate" around I am sure every site that disagrees with Catholicism is a "hate site" so no doubt I have read a few. Perhaps you can go through my archives and tell me which posts are based on faulty material.

"The Catholic profession of faith is not biblical."

There ya go, Carrie. That is a profoundly false statement.

How bout, the profession of Carrie's faith is not biblical?

How can you be so incredibly judgmental of any profession that doesn't agree with you?

How can you be so sure that your profession of faith is correct when you admit yourself you are not even sure what you believe? You are so sure that my faith is not biblical but yours is? Because it is your esteemed opinion, not fact, Carrie, and your blinding hatred and prejudice against Catholics is revealed when you make false statements such as the above.

Can't you see the inconsistency and hypocrisy in your comments?

Why not go after the 5 point Calvinists and start blogging against them? They surely don't believe what you do so they are clearly in error based on your magisterial logic. There's a huge amount of Baptist believers right now who are voting to suppress Calvinism because they believe it is a heresy!!

They don't profess a biblical faith in your world because it doesn't agree with your profession.
Why be choosy when you decide to detract against a faith that disagrees with you. Don't limit your biased epithets to just Catholics. There plenty out there who have "professions of faith that aren't biblical" Start in your own 5 point Calvinist back yard first. When you've corrected them over their false non-biblical doctrines than you can charitably come over and start on us Catholics.

Maybe , everyone will start to see it your way Carrie, and you will be at peace and not feel the need to spread falsehoods about faith professions which you disagree with.

No, I just see the inconsistencies in your comments and again, a lack of reading comprehension or a deliberate twisting of what I have just explained.

Since I know what the gospel IS, I also know what it ISN'T. It appears truth is all relative for you, I do not agree.

Why don't you want to admit you are just as much a fatalist as the rest of 'em? Because deep down you know it is blasphemy against God.

No, I don't believe so.

I want to be biblical and that takes time to work through.
